About Skhirat

A coastal Moroccan city bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Skhirat – with a population of 43,025 inhabitants – is located between the country’s administrative capital Rabat and Morocco’s business center Casablanca.

The city is divided into tourist Skhirat whose beach runs along the Atlantic Ocean and was awarded the Blue Flag eco-label in 2012, and economic Skhirat in the direction of the city of Temara.

The city’s industrial zone boasts Africa’s largest textile mill in addition to an aircraft assembly plant. The industrial center of the city also features a steel factory and tour bus company. The city is home to Morocco’s two most beautiful suspended bridges: Oued Ikem leading to the city of Temara and Oued Sherrat to the city of Bouznika.

Located at a distance of 30 km from Rabat and 60 km from Casablanca, Skhirat is centrally situated between the two capital cities.
